A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for plotting terror attacks and aiding the individual responsible for the Manchester synagogue knifing.

Mohammad Asim Bashir, a delivery driver from Cheetham Hill, Manchester, pleaded guilty to facilitating acts of terrorism. He drove Jihad al-Shamie, the knifeman, on a ten-hour round trip to the UK's Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon, on August 14 of the previous year, as revealed in Manchester Crown Court.

Bashir's conviction and sentencing underscore the legal consequences for individuals involved in planning and executing terrorist acts.
