A man was found unresponsive in his vehicle outside the Killingly Public Schools administration building in Killingly, Connecticut, on Tuesday morning, just before polling stations opened for the midterm elections. Police received a report of the unconscious individual around 5:17 a.m., and emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.

The discovery happened less than an hour before voters were scheduled to begin casting ballots at 6 a.m. The location was set to host voters for key races, including the Connecticut gubernatorial contest and contests for control of Congress.

Despite the proximity to the election, officials confirmed that the incident was not connected to the ongoing voting process. Authorities stated that the polling station would remain open and that voting would proceed as planned.
