The unexplained dismissal of a pilot from the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron has been further complicated by the simultaneous removal of a public affairs officer who was mentored by the disgraced pilot.

Marine Maj. Scott Laux, a second-year pilot for the Blue Angels, was dismissed for "failing to uphold standards," the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) public affairs office confirmed. However, the Navy has not disclosed the specific reasons for his removal or when it occurred.

Following Laux's dismissal, eagle-eyed observers noted that the official biography and photograph of Marine Capt. Danielle Cribb, the squadron's public affairs officer, were also removed from the Blue Angels' website. The Aviationist first reported this development.

Laux and Cribb were previously photographed together in April at a Pensacola Blue Wahoos minor league baseball game, where Laux presented Cribb with an award for her promotion. A social media post accompanying the photo described Laux as Cribb's mentor.

Laux's absence from the squadron's recent NAS Pensacola Homecoming Air Show was noticeable, with the team performing with five aircraft instead of the usual six.

Laux, who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2012, joined the Blue Angels in September 2024 and served as the team's narrator in 2025. His military accolades include two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and multiple unit awards.

Cribb enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2012 and was commissioned as an officer in 2021. She joined the Blue Angels in September 2025. Her decorations include three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, three Good Conduct Medals, and multiple unit awards.

The Navy has not responded to requests for comment regarding the removal of Cribb's profile. The Blue Angels are based at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
