A 27-year-old man has died from injuries sustained days after being punched in what authorities described as a violent and unprovoked attack while he was cycling. George Glover died on August 20, three days after the incident occurred in Leicester.

He was discovered by a member of the public on Narborough Road around 6:30 a.m. and was transported to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with life-threatening injuries. Glover's family released a statement remembering him as a "much-loved son and big brother" who was hardworking, focused, and enjoyed simple activities like gaming and assembling bike parts. They also noted his love for Anime, Lego, and Pokémon cards, and expressed pride in the man he became despite facing early life challenges.

Leicestershire Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the attack. A 24-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Additionally, a 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit murder. They remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames stated that the attack appeared to be unprovoked and appealed to the public for assistance. "We owe it to his family to identify those responsible and bring them to justice – and I'm appealing for public help ensuring this happens," Hames said. He urged anyone who was on Narborough Road on the morning of the attack to recall what they may have seen, believing that potential witnesses have not yet come forward. Hames indicated that any information or footage could be vital to the ongoing investigation.
