Veteran sportscaster Lindsay Czarniak has been named a new host for CBS Sports HQ, the streaming sports network announced. Czarniak is slated to make her debut on the network Sunday night.

Her new role adds another major network to her extensive broadcasting resume, which includes previous tenures at ESPN and Fox Sports, as well as multiple Olympic assignments for NBC.

Czarniak, 48, spent six years at ESPN beginning in 2011, where she anchored "SportsCenter" and other programs. In 2013, she became the first woman to host ABC's Indianapolis 500 telecast. She later joined Fox Sports in 2019, serving as a NASCAR studio host and an NFL sideline reporter. Czarniak also completed her sixth NBC Olympics assignment at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games.

In addition to her sports broadcasting work, Czarniak also hosted Investigation Discovery’s "Game Day Murders" this year, a true crime series examining homicide cases tied to the sports world. This most recent hosting role comes nearly 15 years after Czarniak and her husband, "Today" show co-anchor Craig Melvin, made significant career moves that led both broadcasters from Washington D.C. to national television.

The couple met in 2008 while working at NBC-owned WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. Czarniak returned from covering the Beijing Olympics, and they initially navigated a complicated relationship as colleagues. They became romantically involved, briefly separated in 2009, and reconnected that summer, with their first formal date occurring in October 2009. Melvin proposed in March 2011, and they married on Oct. 15, 2011.

Melvin, 47, has advanced his career at NBC, joining MSNBC in 2011 before becoming an NBC News correspondent and subsequently joining "Today." He is set to become a principal weekday "Today" co-anchor alongside Savannah Guthrie in January 2025.

The couple shares two children: son Delano Joseph “Del” Melvin, 12, and daughter Sybil “Sibby” Ann Melvin, 9.

Czarniak's move to CBS Sports HQ follows a recent appearance on "Today" on Aug. 3, where Melvin interviewed his wife about "Game Day Murders."
