Law enforcement officers conducted an inspection at the Los Angeles home of actress Linda Blair on Friday, discovering approximately 200 rescue dogs on the property. The joint operation involved the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning and the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC).

A representative from the DACC stated that Blair's permits for housing rescue animals had been expired since 2023. While the actress has not been accused of criminal activity, an inspection warrant was issued after multiple attempts to contact her kennel went unanswered. According to reports, Blair is permitted to house around 60 dogs, significantly fewer than the 200 found.

The inspection aimed to evaluate animal care, safety conditions, and the overall welfare of the dogs residing at the property. Blair, known for her role in the 1973 film "The Exorcist," was reportedly present during the inspection and was cooperative.

Following the incident, Blair addressed her followers on Instagram, sharing a video update. "I'm fine, the animals are fine. And we just have some paperwork that has to be dealt with and that's all. That's what this was all about," she stated. Blair also questioned the notification process, suggesting that mail could have been used for communication.

Blair is the president and founder of the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation, established in 2003. The foundation's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, and to aid in crisis situations.

Less than a week prior to the inspection, Blair had appealed to her Instagram followers for donations to her foundation, explaining that she is hands-on in her work with animal welfare. She indicated that funds were needed for spaying, neutering, microchipping, and vaccinating a group of rescue dogs.
