Lauren Goodger celebrated her eldest daughter Larose's fifth birthday on Friday with a lavish princess-themed party. The festivities included bouncy castles and candy floss stations, with appearances from her newly-engaged co-stars Junaid Ahmed and Joe Blackman.
Larose is Goodger's eldest daughter. Her second daughter, Lorena, was born in July 2022 but tragically passed away minutes after birth due to complications with her umbilical cord. Last week, Goodger marked Lorena's 'heavenly birthday' with a separate tribute involving balloons and a cake.
Goodger, 39, shared her grief and reflections in a heartfelt message, noting that Larose still participates in remembering her sister. "Even though your little sister, Larose, doesn’t fully understand, she thinks it’s part of her birthday in 2 weeks she still helps us celebrate every year by letting off balloons, lighting candles, and enjoying cake. It’s her own special way," Goodger wrote. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received and continues to trust that Lorena and Larose guide her.
During a recent appearance on This Morning, Goodger recounted the traumatic experience of Lorena's birth. She described a planned home water birth that took a critical turn when her midwife could not detect a heartbeat on the third day of labor. Initially advised to remain at home, Goodger was eventually rushed to a hospital not expecting her arrival. Despite the efforts of over ten doctors performing chest compressions and administering medication for two hours, Lorena could not be saved due to oxygen loss.
Goodger stated that in the years following Lorena's death, she has been in a state of 'flight or fight,' managing her life as a single mother and hoping to make her daughters proud. She recently split from her partner Charles Drury, though they maintain a cooperative co-parenting relationship.
