Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she relapsed and "couldn't eat" in the immediate aftermath of her father Ozzy Osbourne's death last July. She shared her experience on the "We Need to Talk" podcast, stating that the loss left her "broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken."
Osbourne, 41, described herself as a "shell of myself" and unable to function following her father's passing. She admitted to drinking again because she "couldn't handle" the grief. "I lost my mind. I was a shell of myself," she said on the podcast. "I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything."
She announced that she is now eight months sober and has surrounded herself with supportive individuals. Osbourne noted that she had to close her circle as some friends distanced themselves, saying, "People don’t like sadness, and they expected me to be over it."
Osbourne also recounted her final conversation with her father, which occurred three days before his death. He told her, "Tots, I need you to know something. No matter what happens in this life, you can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet [who] truly loved you, [who] truly loved you for every single thing you are. And that man is me."
Ozzy Osbourne died at age 76 on July 22, 2025, with a heart attack cited as the cause of death. His children Kelly, Aimee, and Jack, from his marriage to Sharon Osbourne, were reportedly with him at the time of his death. His son Louis, from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, was also said to be present.
