A former JPMorgan Chase executive director has been fined and has lost her job after she was seen on video stealing a New York Knicks-themed city garbage can. The incident, which went viral, involved the executive dumping the contents of the can onto a Manhattan sidewalk before taking the receptacle.

The New York City Department of Sanitation confirmed the recovery of the stolen garbage can. Sanitation department spokesman Vincent Gragnani stated that the can was returned, and two stickers were removed before a photograph was taken at their Worth Street Headquarters. He also confirmed that no AI was used in the creation of the image.

The individual, identified as Angie Baez, was reportedly fined $75 for littering and $100 for impeding Department of Sanitation operations, which are the maximum fines allowed by law. Baez was fired by JPMorgan Chase, where she held the position of executive director of community and industry engagement, following the incident.

Video footage posted on X, formerly Twitter, showed Baez, wearing Knicks apparel, emptying the garbage can onto the sidewalk and walking away with it. She was later seen on the subway still in possession of the stolen item. Baez, 40, did not respond to requests for comment from The Post. The Knicks had recently won their first NBA title in 53 years, which was marked by a citywide celebration.
