Jets edge rusher David Bailey has maintained an impressive performance throughout training camp, demonstrating consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. During a joint practice session with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday, Bailey registered what would have been a sack of Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield had tackling been permitted in the team period.

Bailey also bested Buccaneers offensive lineman Luke Goedeke in one-on-one drills. Goedeke had been involved in a confrontation with Bailey during Tuesday's practice.

Practice Highlights and Lowlights

The joint practice concluded with a two-minute drill segment. The Buccaneers' offense, led by Mayfield, was the first unit to take the field. Mayfield successfully guided his team down the field, completing a 68-yard drive that ended in a touchdown against the Jets' defense. He completed five of six passes on the drive, connecting with Cade Otton for the score. The Jets' offense then took possession near their own 32-yard line but struggled to advance. The unit experienced a dropped pass by Braelon Allen and incurred three penalties, ultimately stalling their drive at the Tampa Bay 43-yard line. Kicker Jason Sanders attempted a 61-yard field goal but missed, falling significantly short.

During the two-minute drill, tight end Jeremy Ruckert caught a notable 19-yard pass from quarterback Geno Smith, leaping to secure a high throw. Ruckert has also been recognized for his strong performance during camp.

Medical Updates

Cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers entered the concussion protocol after collapsing during Tuesday's practice. Stiggers was released from the hospital that evening and is currently recovering at home. Defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, sidelined with a foot injury, did not participate in Wednesday's practice. Defensive end Joseph Ossai was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Tuesday, and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn expressed optimism about his potential return to practice next week.
