As summer temperatures rise, a Japanese company has introduced a novel solution to beat the heat: the Do Hiemon personal cooling box. This 7-foot-tall stainless steel unit functions as a "human refrigerator," designed to blast cold air at users.

The device maintains an internal temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit, with a directed stream of even cooler 41-degree air specifically aimed at the user's head and neck. The Do Hiemon is available for purchase in Japan at a cost of 1.5 million Yen, approximately $9,200 USD.

This innovative cooling method comes amid global efforts to find ways to cope with extreme summer weather. While the cooling box offers a powerful solution, its price point and size place it outside the reach of typical consumers, prompting some to note the availability of more conventional methods for staying cool, such as air conditioning, fans, and public pools.
