Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) paramilitary has issued a warning to residents in seven Middle Eastern countries, advising them to avoid U.S. interests including hotels, banks, and properties associated with the Trump family. The IRGC specifically named the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in a message posted on Telegram.
"For your safety, you are urged to immediately stay away from military and security bases, facilities, and headquarters, as well as locations where U.S. forces are deployed," the IRGC stated, further advising a minimum distance of 500 meters (1,640 feet) from any accommodations used by U.S. military personnel. This includes "American hotels, American banks, American companies, high-rise towers, properties owned by the Trump family, and investments associated with them."
President Trump has business interests and planned projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
The IRGC claimed responsibility for an attack on a U.S. base in Udairi, Kuwait, stating it destroyed three ammunition and storage sheds. The group also asserted it damaged a watchtower for the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, which is based in Bahrain. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has not responded to inquiries regarding these claims. Bahrain reported intercepting and shooting down Iranian aerial attacks on Friday, but did not specify casualties or damage.
In Iraq, U.S.-led forces downed five explosive-laden drones over Erbil in the northern part of the country, according to security officials. No injuries or damage were reported in Erbil, though an Associated Press journalist reported hearing at least seven blasts and seeing plumes of black smoke. A small contingent of U.S. military advisers is based in Iraq, with many stationed in Erbil.
Jordanian armed forces announced they had intercepted seven Iranian missiles and six drones on Friday.
These reported attacks from Iran follow a 13th consecutive night of U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian facilities. According to semiofficial news outlets Fars and ISNA, U.S. strikes hit an IRGC naval base in northern Iran, with additional blasts reported on Qeshm Island and in Isfahan province. Further strikes were reported in Iran’s Khuzestan and Fars provinces.
CENTCOM stated that the U.S. airstrikes were intended to "further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting regional waters," as part of efforts to regain control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil and gas transport.
