Authorities have released a dramatic 911 call from the father who confronted and fatally shot a gunman at an Oregon elementary school on October 15, an incident that left a teacher and three children dead.
The minute-long recording captures Kaylub Giammarco urgently informing a dispatcher that a gunman was present at Silver Trail Elementary, where his daughter was a student. Giammarco, who was driving home for lunch at the time, stated, "I have a gun and I will shoot them right now."
The dispatcher pleaded with Giammarco to wait for officers, but he indicated the shooter was breaching the building. When asked if shots were being fired, Giammarco confirmed they were, before the call abruptly ended.
According to reports, Giammarco then opened fire, killing 16-year-old Griffin J. John II, who was armed with his mother's shotgun. The gunman had reportedly forced his way through locked doors, reaching a special needs classroom where the fatalities occurred. An additional student was critically wounded, and another teacher sustained injuries during the attack.
