Twitch streamer Hasan Piker celebrated what he called a "blue-clear apocalypse" following the 2026 midterm election results, declaring "woke is back" and expressing a desire to see former President Donald Trump imprisoned. Piker, who livestreamed for over 13 hours, told his viewers that "Trumpism is dying" and speculated on a future where Trump is incarcerated.
During the broadcast, which at times attracted more than 200,000 viewers, Piker criticized what he perceived as the Republican Party's "odious agenda, their corruption, the destabilizing impact that they’ve had, the endless warfare and its consequences on the American economy." He also expressed a desire for more Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates to have been fielded in primaries, suggesting that "straight communists" should have run in some districts.
Piker's commentary included remarks about putting people in jail for misgendering and criticism of Israel, stating that "Hamas is a thousand times better than Israel." He also referenced comments made by Republican opponents who characterized his supporters as "Hasan Piker Democrats," adopting the label and declaring the return of "woke" with a move to "Woke 3.0."
He asserted that American voters rejected "toxic politicking" and racism, citing the victory of Michigan Democratic Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed amid alleged "Islamophobia" on the campaign trail. Representative Ro Khanna, D-Calif., appeared on Piker's stream, suggesting that Democrats should engage with Piker due to his large following and clear stances on issues like the war in Iran and the conflict in Gaza.
On social media platform X, Piker posted messages such as "WE’RE GONNA PUT YOUR ASS IN JAIL EVERYONE GET MORE WOKE RIGHT NOW." Following the victory of James Talarico in Texas, Piker also posted, "GOD IS NONBINARY NOW MFS!!! ITS LAW!!!"
Toward the end of his stream, Piker fantasized about Trump and Elon Musk being imprisoned together in a "supermax facility," adding, "A better future is possible."
