The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has drawn criticism for featuring Twitch streamer Hasan Piker as the host for their election night broadcast. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) chief Jonathan Greenblatt condemned the group for elevating Piker, whom the ADL described as having a history of antisemitic remarks and apologizing for terrorism.

Piker, in turn, responded to the criticism with a vulgar online message while celebrating election results and expressing a desire to see Donald Trump imprisoned. This collaboration has sparked outrage among Jewish advocacy groups.

Campus and School Incidents

The newsletter also highlighted other incidents related to anti-Jewish sentiment. Conservative Jewish influencer Lizzy Benichou reported being physically assaulted during a debate at the University of Michigan. Police detained a student suspect following the altercation.

Separately, the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan endorsed a post that read "Intifada Until Victory." The group #EndJewHatred called this slogan an explicit threat to Jewish students, prompting demands for action from school officials.

Sports and Broader Concerns

In sports, the NHL's St. Louis Blues issued an apology after anti-Israel banners were displayed during a recent game against Vegas. The banners, which included phrases like "Free America from Israel" and "Israel kills," were condemned by team chairman Tom Stillman as "unforgivable."

Evan R. Bernstein, CEO of B'nai B'rith International, warned in a guest editorial that antisemitism is manifesting from both the far-right and far-left political spectrums. He noted incidents in New York, London, and France, describing how the far-right portrays Jews as conspiratorial figures, while the far-left labels them as oppressors, leaving Jewish communities vulnerable to attacks from both extremes.
