A specialized handheld vacuum cleaner designed for cleaning mattresses is currently available at a reduced price on Amazon. The device is marketed as a solution for removing dust mites, dead skin, and other debris from sleeping surfaces.
Experts previously told HuffPost that mattresses can harbor thousands of dust mites and their droppings. To combat this, a mattress-designated vacuum cleaner with a UV light is recommended. These handheld devices are designed to pass over the mattress surface, capturing small particles with strong suction and trapping them in a HEPA filter.
One model highlighted is available in black for 34% off, while the white version is offered at a 20% discount. The vacuum features a UV light intended to kill germs and a powerful suction mechanism. It also includes a hand-washable HEPA filter and a metal screen pre-filter to simplify maintenance. A high-frequency tapping feature is incorporated to help dislodge hidden dirt and dust.
Reviewers have reported using the vacuum for various applications beyond mattresses, including car seats, pillows, pet beds, upholstery, and clothing. Some users have noted improvements in allergy symptoms and sinus headaches after using the device.
One reviewer, H. Brown, stated, "I purchased this and a mattress protector because I was having mild sinus headaches after I woke up in the mornings... The next morning I had no headache." Another user, Tiffany, described the device as a "game-changer" after gifting it to her sister, noting the surprising amount of debris collected from a mattress and couch.
Kristin Chalker-Quintana reported that the vacuum helped alleviate her wife's allergy symptoms, which were related to their cat. "This little machine has honestly been the game-changer. It’s shocking how much dander, hair, and dust it pulls out of our mattress and bedding," she wrote. Ckfamilyof4 also mentioned that after struggling with what they suspected were bug bites, the vacuum made a difference, and the bites began to disappear.
