Global law firm Vedder is moving its New York City offices to Rockefeller Group’s 1221 Sixth Avenue tower, a move that will see the firm occupy the entire 34th floor. The lease for 49,000 square feet is a long-term commitment that will bring the 2.6 million-square-foot building to 98% leased.

Vedder plans to relocate from its current space at 1633 Broadway in 2027. The firm was represented in the transaction by a Savills team comprising David Goldstein, Joseph Learner, and Scott Weiss. The landlord, Rockefeller Group, was represented by a Cushman & Wakefield team including Robert Lowe, Paige Engeldrum, Dan Organ, and Pierce Hance, alongside Rockefeller Group's Marisa Gadlin.

"Vedder is an outstanding fit that will strengthen the building’s tenant roster for many years to come," Gadlin stated in a release.

The 1221 Sixth Avenue building has seen significant leasing activity. Major office tenant NBC Universal recently renewed its lease for 200,000 square feet. The building also houses Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. Rockefeller Group is actively seeking tenants for the tower's sunken retail plaza.
