Nicholas Trigili, who achieved his lifelong goal of winning the Mr. USA title in 2014, experienced a drastic decline in his health in the years that followed. After 15 years of intense dedication to bodybuilding and a highly controlled diet, Trigili's lifestyle shifted dramatically after his win, leading to significant weight gain and a host of health problems.

Trigili, now 39, described a sense of being "lost" after reaching his ultimate goal, causing him to abandon his strict high-protein diet and rigorous gym schedule. He began consuming fast food daily, including burgers and pizza. By age 30, his weight had escalated to 360 pounds, requiring him to wear size 5XL shirts and 48 trousers. He noted that the physical size was less alarming than the personal transformation.

The former bodybuilder faced severe health issues, including extreme sleep apnea, high blood pressure, joint pain, exhaustion, and a loss of libido. A stark warning from his doctor, who stated he might not live past 40 if changes weren't made, served as a crucial wake-up call. Subsequent tests revealed critically high blood sugar levels and adverse markers for his kidneys and liver.

Trigili responded by cutting out junk food and high-calorie restaurant meals, while reintroducing weekly cardio and weight training. He successfully lost 135 pounds and has seen improvements in his blood pressure, cholesterol, and mental well-being. He now works as a performance and longevity coach, aiming to help others facing similar struggles.

"Today I am the healthiest I have ever been and although I don't look as muscular as I once did, I feel amazing," Trigili stated. He emphasizes that his story highlights that anyone, regardless of their past or body type, can encounter weight and health challenges, and that a path to recovery exists.
