A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly pulling a handgun on a group of teenagers who fired a water pellet gun at his vehicle. The incident occurred on the evening of July 1 in Port St. Lucie.

Gregory Allen Davis, 49, reportedly encountered the teens after a 15-year-old boy fired an Orbeez blaster at Davis's car. The teens had mistaken his vehicle for that of a friend they intended to prank. According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Davis called 911 reporting that his vehicle was being shot at, stating that the projectiles appeared to be from a BB gun. He then pursued the teens' car, shouting for them to pull over.

When the teens stopped their vehicle, Davis allegedly brandished a 9mm handgun and ordered them to exit the car. Police arrived shortly after, confiscating Davis's firearm and taking him into custody. Body-worn camera footage captured an officer questioning Davis, asking, "Why are we pointing guns at kids?"

An investigation by responding officers determined that the teenagers had used a water pellet gun, not a BB gun, and had fired at the wrong vehicle. Davis was subsequently charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment of a child. The teenage boy who fired the water pellet gun was charged with throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle.

Davis could not be reached for comment, and his attorney did not respond to requests for comment by the time of publication.
