A police chase in Florida concluded dramatically when a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon crashed on top of an SUV carrying a mother and her two children. The incident occurred on North Park Road in Broward County, as captured in cellphone video shared by Only in Dade.
The footage shows the G-Wagon speeding down the road, pursued by two police vehicles. The luxury SUV then weaved through stopped traffic at a red light, colliding with vehicles in an apparent attempt to evade officers, before its chase ended by crashing into an SUV. The G-Wagon ended up on top of the hood of the SUV.
The driver of the SUV, a mother with her two children inside, told NBC South Florida that the G-Wagon struck her vehicle as she was attempting to turn. She stated, "It all happened in a matter of seconds." Fortunately, the woman and her children were not injured.
Following the crash, at least one individual was arrested and taken into custody. The identity of the suspect and the charges they face have not yet been publicly released.
Helicopter footage from NBC South Florida captured the scene after the collision, showing law enforcement officers searching the G-Wagon for evidence. The Hollywood Police Department and the Broward County Sheriff's Office have been contacted for comment.
