Distressing bodycam footage has been released showing the aftermath of a shooting at a Citibank corporate office in Tampa, Florida, that resulted in two deaths. The incident occurred around noon on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).

The released video begins with a 911 call from a distressed woman reporting an active shooter inside the building. It then transitions to an officer arming himself and entering the building as terrified employees evacuated.

In the footage, deputies can be heard asking fleeing employees for a description of the suspect. One employee indicated the direction from which the shots were heard. The bodycam video captures officers approaching the building entrance and spotting a crashed car outside.

As an officer entered the building, a scream of "He's down" could be heard, referring to the unidentified male suspect. Authorities confirmed that the gunman fatally shot a female employee before being killed by an armed guard employed by Citi. A deputy reported over his radio, "Shooter is inside, shooter is down."

Several employees were seen being evacuated by law enforcement, with some instructed to keep their hands raised as they exited. Officials stated that 3,200 people work on the Tampa campus.

The relationship between the shooter and the victim remains unclear, though sources told the New York Post that the shooting may have involved a vendor rather than Citi employees.

Additional footage circulating on social media depicted a tall, bearded man in an unzipped sweatshirt exiting a gray sedan with a rifle. He was fatally shot by an armed security guard at the facility.

Chief Deputy Frank Losat reported that in addition to the two fatalities, four other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He described the event as "a sad day for everybody involved."

Paramedics were observed rushing gurneys to the scene, with at least two individuals being transported for medical attention. Every room in the building was searched and cleared by deputies and a SWAT team.

A reunification site was established in a nearby parking lot for Citi employees. A shelter-in-place order was also enacted at Hillsborough College during the incident.

More than 10,000 people are employed by Citi in Tampa, where the company has occupied its corporate center since 1998. The HCSO stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released as they become available.
