Fern Britton, the 69-year-old television presenter, has shared that she has "nothing to regret" following her 2020 divorce from her husband, Phil Vickery. In a recent interview, Britton reflected on her life, stating that she "likes her own company and never feels lonely."

Britton, who moved to Cornwall six years ago, explained that she finds contentment in solitude. She and Vickery, a star of "This Morning," divorced after two decades of marriage. "Never underestimate anybody and never underestimate yourself," Britton told Bella Magazine. When asked for advice to her younger self, she stated, "I'd tell myself that there's nothing to be ashamed about and there's nothing to regret. Just get on with it. Never look back. If you're lost, keep going."

Last year, Britton admitted that maintaining a cordial relationship with her ex-husband had been challenging at times. She expressed a conscious effort to avoid speaking negatively about Vickery in front of their 25-year-old daughter, Winnie, citing her own experience as a child of divorced parents. Britton also has three older children from her first marriage to Clive Jones.

In an interview with Yours magazine, Britton revealed a lack of current contact with Vickery, stating he had not spoken to her in six years. A representative for Vickery was contacted for comment by the Daily Mail.

Following her divorce in 2020, Britton relocated from Buckinghamshire to the Southwest coast of England, a move she found instrumental in her healing process. This relocation also spurred a renewed focus on her writing, following her 2011 novel "New Beginnings."

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Britton has been prolific, publishing "Daughters Of Cornwall" in 2020 and "The Good Servant" two years later. Concurrently, she underwent a lifestyle overhaul, losing five stone. She attributes this change to stopping smoking and drinking, gaining control over her eating habits, and engaging in physical activity, including the "Couch to 5k" program. Britton noted that she significantly reduced sugar intake and became more mindful of her diet, changes she had not prioritized before.
