Formula One driver Arvid Lindblad, 19, has successfully passed his UK theory driving test, a milestone he shared on Instagram just days after experiencing a crash during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix. Lindblad, who competes for the Racing Bulls team, posted about his success with the caption "easy dub."
Lindblad achieved a score of 46 out of 50 on the multiple-choice section of the test and 52 out of 75 on the hazard perception segment. His performance on the hazard perception, given his profession, drew comments from fans online. One Reddit user suggested that "Maybe with F1 driver reflexes he doesn’t think some things are hazards because he can keep the car under control." Another fan noted that the software for the hazard perception test can be "very flawed."
The 19-year-old Briton took his test in the UK after returning from Madrid, where he finished ninth in the Spanish Grand Prix. The race marked the circuit's inaugural F1 event. During practice for the Grand Prix, Lindblad's car made contact with barriers at Turn 13, though he was uninjured.
The incident at the Madrid circuit also prompted discussion about its safety. George Russell, a Mercedes driver, commented on the circuit's challenging nature, noting the proximity of barriers to the track and several fast corners that could lead to significant braking lock-ups, drawing comparisons to a corner at the Baku circuit.
