Actress Eva Mendes has publicly called out an Instagram account for sharing a fabricated image of her partner Ryan Gosling and actor Johnny Depp at San Diego Comic-Con. The account @opavisions posted the AI-generated picture over the weekend, which showed Gosling and Depp together.

Mendes commented on the post, stating, "FAKE. Please let People know when you're putting out AI." The account later responded, acknowledging the image was AI-generated and promising to be more clear in the future. The caption on the post has since been changed to simply read "AI," and comments have been turned off. The account also issued an apology to Mendes.

Both Gosling and Depp made separate appearances at the San Diego Comic-Con last week. Depp appeared on Thursday, dressed as his character Ebenezer Scrooge to promote his upcoming film "Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol," which is slated for release on November 13. He was seen in character at a mock storefront in the Gaslamp district and later on Collider's Directors on Directing panel.

Gosling's appearance was on Saturday, when it was announced he will portray Ghost Rider in an upcoming Marvel project. Director Shawn Levy confirmed that the film is expected to be released in 2028. Levy also mentioned Gosling's casting in "Star Wars: Starfighter," directed by Levy, which is set for a May 28, 2027 release.

Mendes has a prior connection to the Ghost Rider franchise, having played Roxanne Simpson, the love interest of Nicolas Cage's character, in the 2007 film "Ghost Rider." She recently shared a fan-edited clip on Instagram, suggesting Gosling would be a perfect fit for the Ghost Rider role, referencing her character with the caption "Love, Roxy."
