In a memorable 1988 episode of the BBC program "That's Life!," host Esther Rantzen surprised Nicholas Winton by bringing him face-to-face with children he had rescued from Nazi forces during World War II.

Sir Nicholas Winton's humanitarian efforts had remained largely unknown for nearly five decades until his wife discovered a scrapbook. This scrapbook contained the names of 669 children, predominantly Jewish, whom he had saved. The footage of Rantzen's surprise reunion with these now-adults has been widely shared online in recent years.

Dame Esther Rantzen, who passed away in 2023, spoke about the episode, stating that she had watched it numerous times and found herself deeply moved with each viewing. She maintained contact with Sir Nicholas, meeting regularly until his death in 2015 at the age of 106.
