Ellidy Pullin's Engagement Ring Valued at $350,000 After Jeweler Confirms Natural Diamond
The four-carat 'old mine cushion cut' diamond ring, set in yellow gold, has been confirmed as natural by Alder Fine Jewellery.
Ellidy Pullin and partner Brock Wadsworth recently announced their engagement, with Pullin showcasing a prominent diamond ring.
Jewellery experts had estimated the ring's value between $250,000 and $350,000 if the diamond was natural, and between $7,000 and $12,000 if it were lab-grown. Alder Fine Jewellery, the maker of the ring, has now confirmed that the four-carat diamond is natural.
The jewellers described the stone as an 'old mine cushion cut natural diamond' that possesses "the spread of a five-carat diamond." The ring features an elongated, cushion-cut diamond set in a yellow-gold bezel setting, a design choice that has recently gained popularity.
Wedding and engagement ring expert Nilesh Rakholia, founder of Abelini jewellers, noted the ring's similarity to the one given to Taylor Swift by Travis Kelce. Rakholia commented on the bezel setting, explaining that it provides a cleaner silhouette and protects the diamond's edges, making it suitable for daily wear. He suggested that Taylor Swift's engagement ring helped popularize bezel settings, appealing to those seeking unique yet practical designs.
Pullin, 34, announced her engagement to Wadsworth, a Gold Coast-based contractor and managing director for Wadsworth Contracting, on Instagram. She revealed that Wadsworth proposed during a trip to Europe.
This engagement marks a new chapter for Pullin, six years after the death of her former partner, Olympic snowboarder Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin, who drowned in a spearfishing accident in July 2020 at the age of 32. Following Pullin's death, Ellidy underwent posthumous sperm retrieval and welcomed their daughter, Minnie, in October 2021.
