Hundreds of dogs and their owners gathered for a special "Doggy Dip" event at a heated public pool in Gourock, Renfrewshire. The event, held annually before the facility closes for the winter, saw more than 200 dogs take a swim.

Facilities manager Mark McFarlane initiated the Doggy Dip sessions in 2019. "All the sessions have sold out, and we’ve had a great time," McFarlane stated. "It's certainly grown in size – initially, we had one swim at the end of the season, but we’ve now expanded."

This year's event was expected to accommodate approximately 240 people and 240 dogs over the course of the day. "There are a few dogs that get quite nervous when they go in for the first time – but once they’re in, they really enjoy it," McFarlane added.

Attendees like Cathy Murray and her dog Guinness participated in the event. "He quite enjoys the swim – and this is great for me because the water’s warm," Murray said.
