Families planning a Halloween getaway to Walt Disney World may find the cost comparable to a luxury European vacation, according to a new study. Researchers compared pricing data for trips to Disney World during the Halloween season with vacations in Spain, Italy, and Greece.
The study found that a seven-night stay at a Disney World resort for a family of four during Halloween week averages approximately $4,924. This figure can exceed lodging costs in popular European destinations, with Spain averaging $1,710, Greece $2,806, and Italy $3,768 for a comparable duration.
At higher-end Disney resorts, the cost for a week around Halloween can escalate to nearly $10,000. For instance, a last-minute booking at Disney's Beach Club Resort for seven nights reached $9,879.30. Even Disney's more budget-friendly options, like the Coronado Springs Resort, cost $2,159 for the week.
Data from FloridaRentals.com, which conducted the analysis, indicates that the average cost for on-site Disney lodging during May 2027 was $4,064 for a seven-night stay for four people. This suggests that Halloween rates carry a premium of approximately 21% compared to spring pricing.

Single-day 'Park Hopper' passes now exceed $300 for peak weekend visits, with standard single-park tickets reaching $229 and VIP 'Lightning Lane' passes priced at $499.
Halloween is Disney World's longest-running annual event, extending from August 7 through October 31. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event, adds to the overall cost, with tickets ranging from $119 to $229 per person, not including resort stays or park admission.
Visitors have noted the rising costs. One Facebook user reported paying $88 per person for Mickey's Halloween party in 2019, compared to $144 per person in the current year. Another noted a jump from $105 per person in 2018 to $199 for a Friday in October, excluding other expenses.
