Jerry and Jamie Bone of Gosfield, Essex, chose the day of the full solar eclipse to tie the knot, seeing the astronomical phenomenon as the "perfect" occasion for their wedding.
The couple had realized several years prior that the eclipse would be visible in 2026 and decided to plan their marriage around the event. They exchanged vows in Alpheton, near Sudbury, Suffolk.
Wednesday's eclipse was the first total solar eclipse visible over mainland Europe since 1999, creating a memorable spectacle that included special viewing glasses and a distinct from the colanders often used and an eerie shadowing of the sun.
