A Chicago woman reacted with intense anger after a parking monitor placed a boot on her car for allegedly using a handicapped parking spot without proper authorization. The incident occurred on Lincoln Avenue in the Budlong Woods neighborhood.

Footage of the encounter shows the woman, dressed in a turquoise top, shouting at the parking attendant as she emerged from a shop. The exchange escalated into a verbal dispute, with the attendant attempting to deescalate the situation by stepping away. He stated he would wait for her to calm down before continuing the interaction.

Visibly frustrated, the woman claimed she was unaware she was parked in a handicapped spot, asserting she would not have used the space if she had seen the sign. "How am I supposed to see that?" she questioned, demanding an explanation. "Please tell me how I'm supposed to see that. Anywhere that I go, I don't park in no f****** handicap spot knowing I ain't handicapped."

However, a different perspective of the parking lot, captured in video, showed a disabled parking sign clearly visible in front of the woman's red Chevrolet sedan. While the woman continued to protest the visibility of the signage, the parking monitor waited patiently with a clipboard, prepared for her to pay the fee to have the boot removed.

The cost to remove a boot from a passenger vehicle issued by the City of Chicago is $100. The report noted that the parking attendant appeared to be employed by a private entity rather than the city.

The video, which was posted to the social media platform X, garnered significant attention, accumulating nearly 100,000 views and hundreds of comments. Online commenters expressed surprise at the woman's reaction, with many suggesting she should have accepted responsibility for the parking violation.
