Cher Lloyd has offered insight into her marital split from husband Craig Monk, with whom she shares two daughters, through a series of social media posts. The announcement of their separation came just three months after the death of Lloyd's father.

Days before the news of the split became public, Lloyd reposted a TikTok video with a caption that read, "I heard someone say 'the disrespect at the end was louder than any good memory we ever had, and that's when I knew I was done.'" She also shared a picture featuring Drake's song "Yebba's Heartache," which is associated with themes of grief and heartbreak.

Lloyd first sparked speculation about the state of her marriage when she posted a photo of her ring-free hand on Instagram. She later responded to a follower by stating she had thrown her wedding ring "in the bin."

Sources close to Monk have reportedly urged Lloyd to refrain from airing personal matters publicly, suggesting she should instead engage in direct communication with her estranged husband. One source described Lloyd's comments as "disrespectful" and perceived her actions as attention-seeking, stating that announcing the ring had been discarded was "extremely disrespectful."

"I think it's quite obvious that she's not acting in a very mature manner. Maybe have an adult conversation instead of going straight onto Instagram," a source close to Craig reportedly told the Daily Mail.

Craig Monk is reportedly focused on his two daughters, Delilah-Rae, born in May 2018, and Eliza Violet, born in September 2023, with his well-being and priorities centered on them. The couple married in November 2013.

Amid the personal revelations, Lloyd has also alluded to moving "onto greater things." Her social media activity has included liking posts about intuition, crying, and lost love, as well as a humorous video of someone dancing after crying for two hours. Another post she liked featured the text: "Source? My gut feeling. My intuition. Super symbolic dream. The vibe I got."

Earlier posts shared by Lloyd touched on a longing for "old-school love" and a time when "trust came naturally, loyalty meant something, and people weren't afraid to genuinely care for each other."

Lloyd rose to prominence after appearing on The X Factor, where she was mentored by Cheryl Tweedy. She and Craig Monk became engaged less than a year after meeting. In an October 2018 appearance on the ITV chat show Loose Women, Lloyd described her relationship with Monk as "like a fairy tale," despite acknowledging that they had experienced ups and downs.

The announcement of the marital split follows the death of Lloyd's father, Darren, on April 11, 2026. She shared the news emotionally on social media, writing, "Life will never be the same again. I've never felt pain like this. My Dad, I love you. Goodnight."

Her father had reportedly struggled with health issues throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring hospitalization multiple times in 2020. Lloyd was unable to visit him during that period due to restrictions.
