Actor Charlie Sheen has been ordered to pay $500,000 to his third ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, as their legal dispute over child support concludes. The agreement settles a lawsuit filed by Mueller in December, in which she sought over $15 million in back child support with interest for their 17-year-old twins, Bob and Max.

Mueller's initial complaint alleged that Sheen had been ordered to pay $55,000 monthly from April 2010 but began making partial or no payments in July 2011. Sheen's representative had countered that Mueller was not entitled to child support because he had cared for the children during her struggles with addiction.

Under the terms of the newly reached arrangement, Sheen will pay Mueller a total of $500,000. Half of this amount is due by July 10, with the remainder to be paid by September 1. This figure is significantly less than Mueller's initial demand.

The agreement covers the period from March 1, 2011, to July 1, 2026. Following this date, financial responsibility for Bob and Max will rest with whichever parent has physical custody, according to court documents. While Sheen and Mueller technically share joint custody, the precise terms are contingent on Mueller maintaining sobriety.

Mueller and Sheen were married in 2008 and divorced in 2011, with their marriage reportedly impacted by substance abuse issues. In 2013, Sheen's second ex-wife, Denise Richards, temporarily cared for the twins after they were placed in government care due to Mueller's drug use. Sheen has reportedly been sober since 2018, while Mueller has experienced relapses, most recently in 2023, but has stated her commitment to sobriety.

Mueller's December lawsuit sought $15,386,243, which included $8.9 million in back child support from March 2011 to December 2025, and an additional $6.4 million in interest, plus $25,000 in attorney's fees. Sheen's legal team had argued that Mueller's history of addiction and rehabilitation meant she was not entitled to support payments, especially given Sheen's primary custody of the children.
