Camryn Manheim, the 65-year-old Emmy-winning actress known for her roles in "The Practice" and "Law & Order," recently drew attention for her noticeable weight loss. She appeared significantly slimmer while attending the opening night of Rosie O'Donnell's one-woman show "Common Knowledge" in New York City last Wednesday. Manehim, who has been open about her past struggles with weight and self-acceptance, was seen posing with Ricki Lake, who also appeared to have undergone a transformation. Manheim, born in New Jersey and raised in Illinois, wore glasses and had her hair slicked back as she stepped out.

Her appearance has prompted speculation, with some media outlets linking her transformation to the increased use of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic in Hollywood. Representatives for Manheim did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Manheim's past statements on weight and self-image offer context to her public persona. Upon winning an Emmy in 1998 for her role as defense attorney Ellenor Frutt in "The Practice," she famously declared, "This is for all the fat girls." In a 1999 New York Times interview, then a size 22, she stated, "My platform is not fat acceptance, it's self-acceptance. My weight is being celebrated."

In her 1999 memoir, "Wake Up, I'm Fat!," Manheim recounted a period where she considered extreme measures to lose weight, including nearly taking crystal meth to shed 70 pounds while involved in a play at NYU's Tisch School for the Arts.

More recently, Manheim has been seen on a European vacation, appearing slimmer. While in Spain, she visited her son, Milo Manheim, on the set of Disney's live-action adaptation of "Tangled," where he plays Flynn Rider. Milo Manheim, 25, is also known for his role in "School Spirits."

She announced the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement for the project. She has also filmed a role as Vera Preston in the upcoming psychological horror film "Deluxe Ocean View."
