A California man was arrested after allegedly leaving a backpack containing approximately $30,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine in a rideshare vehicle, the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) reported.

The driver of the rideshare vehicle contacted officers on a Sunday afternoon after discovering the backpack. Authorities recovered 355.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value exceeding $30,000, according to police.

SFPD identified the suspect as Jessie Ottman-Comb, a 41-year-old resident of Sacramento. Police were able to locate Ottman-Comb by working with the rideshare driver to arrange for the backpack's return. Officers apprehended him at a motel where he was staying.

During a search of the motel room, officers reportedly found two cellphones, two tablets, and drug paraphernalia, which were seized as evidence along with the methamphetamine. Ottman-Comb was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on charges including possession and transportation or sale of methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.
