Bruce Springsteen directly addressed election officials on Tuesday, emphasizing their duty to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. In a video posted on Instagram, the Grammy winner reminded them that they have sworn an oath to ensure votes are "securely counted."

Citing Thomas Jefferson's principle that government requires the consent of the governed, Springsteen stated, "You who represent us must never consent to any directives that undermine our constitutional right to a free and fair election. Our vote is our voice, and it’s up to you to ensure that our voice is heard." He concluded the message by expressing gratitude for their service.

Springsteen has previously been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, particularly concerning Trump's refusal to concede the 2020 election and his suggestions of running for a third term. The musician also publicly endorsed Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan in a previous election, calling him "a fighter for our American Constitution" and "against the corrupt, lawless and anti-American leadership currently in the White House."
