Britain is home to two new equine record-holders recognized in the 2027 edition of the Guinness World Records. The entries highlight a passion for horses in the UK, with one for the world's tallest horse and another for the largest collection of My Little Pony items.
Hugo, a four-year-old Shire horse from Towcester, Northamptonshire, has been certified as the tallest horse in the world, standing at 6 feet 3 inches. His carers, Brett Masters and Lisa Masters, describe him as a gentle giant, likening him to an oversized dog. Hugo's significant height is particularly surprising given his parents were of average stature. His measurement was verified by a veterinarian without his horseshoes on to ensure accuracy.
Also featured in the records is 43-year-old Miranda Worby, who has amassed the world's largest collection of My Little Pony memorabilia, totaling 4,550 items. Worby's hobby began in her childhood, inspired by a desire for a real horse that her parents couldn't fulfill. Her first My Little Pony, a pink figure named Snowflake, is still in her possession.
As an adult, Worby began actively seeking out rare My Little Pony collectibles, many of which were released in limited regions. Her dedication led her to use the internet to track down these elusive items. The scale of her collection became so significant that in 2018, she moved houses to accommodate more display space.
Worby stated that achieving a Guinness World Record is profoundly meaningful to her. She encourages fellow collectors to embrace their passions, saying, "never be embarrassed for collecting what you love! There are plenty of other people who love it too, so be proud and never ashamed of what you adore."
