A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from a fourth-floor window of an apartment building in the Bronx on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Buchanan Place near Davidson Avenue in the University Heights neighborhood.

Pedestrians discovered the child on the sidewalk below the building. Video footage from the scene shows the boy, who was reportedly wearing only a diaper, lying motionless on the ground. Witnesses described hearing a loud thud and expressed shock and concern over the child's well-being, with one onlooker heard shouting, "Where is the f--king parents, man?"

First responders arrived at the scene, and the boy was turned onto his side by police officers as bystanders offered prayers. He sustained injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position, according to law enforcement sources. The boy was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Authorities have stated that no arrests have been made and no criminality is immediately suspected in connection with the fall. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
