Several individuals dressed as Alexander Hamilton took to the streets near the finish line of the New York City Marathon on Sunday, cheering on participants and marking two significant milestones. The event celebrated the 50th running of the marathon and the 225th anniversary of the New York Post.
The Hamilton impersonators, representing the New York Post, held signs with period-appropriate slogans such as "THOU HAST THIS!" and "MAKE HASTE." They were among the thousands of spectators who lined the course through the five boroughs to support the approximately 60,000 runners competing in the race.
The New York Post initiated its 225th-anniversary celebration with this unique display, aiming to honor the iconic people, places, and things that define New York City. The marathon, one of the world's most famous races, provided a prominent platform for this commemoration.
