The first of six men alleging indecent assault and sexual touching by radio personality Alan Jones is continuing to testify in court.

The 85-year-old faces 22 charges, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.

The court heard that the six complainants allege Jones indecently assaulted or sexually touched them between 2003 and 2020 at various locations across Sydney and the NSW Southern Highlands. The identities of the complainants are protected for legal reasons.

During his testimony, the first complainant described meeting Jones when he was 14 and a promising athlete. He stated that Jones provided him with a phone to stay in contact, and later a car and weekly payments of $400, which increased to $600 after an alleged indecent assault. The complainant claims Jones told him he didn't need to tell anyone about these gifts.

The court heard that the complainant experienced intense pain when Jones allegedly grabbed his genitals while he was driving, causing him to veer off the road. "I was trapped," the complainant stated, adding that he felt unable to resist or report the alleged advances due to fear and the financial support he was receiving.

He asserted that he never consented to the alleged kisses or sexual misconduct, which he claims began when he was a teenager and continued over a two-year period. The former teacher faces nine charges related to this complainant.

Jones's barrister indicated that she would challenge the complainant's credibility and reliability during cross-examination, suggesting the allegations might have been fabricated. Jones, who has denied all charges, was observed taking notes throughout the hearing. The Local Court hearing is expected to continue for several months.
