Karl Bushby, a British adventurer, is set to complete his 31,000-mile challenge in Hull on Monday. The journey, which began after the breakdown of his marriage, saw him leave Punta Arenas, Chile, at the age of 29 with limited funds.

Bushby's walk took him north toward home, crossing four continents, deserts, mountains, and jungles. He also traversed a frozen sea. The adventurer swam back across the English Channel on October 5, marking a significant milestone in his expedition.

Reflecting on the journey, Bushby described the Humber Bridge as an iconic landmark in his mind, noting its symbolic appearance where the other side of the river is obscured. He recalled the bridge as a prominent memory from when he first left home to test his equipment.

Bushby, now 57, was met by crowds at the Humber Bridge, an experience he described as overwhelming. The adventurer's extensive walk represents a nearly three-decade-long endeavor that has taken him across vast and varied landscapes.
