Aaron Rodgers recounted the origins of his relationship with his wife, Brittani, revealing he first met her in 2017. He shared these details on the "Not Just Football with Cam Heyward" podcast, noting that at the time of their meeting, Brittani was planning to move back to Europe.

"At the time, she was leaving the States and going back to Europe," Rodgers said on the podcast. "And my biggest regret is not begging her to stay or proposing right there."

The 42-year-old NFL player admitted that not pursuing Brittani at that moment led to him becoming "emotionally unavailable for [the next] seven or eight years." He described meeting her as encountering "the person that was going to change my life," after which he focused intensely on football. He acknowledged that while he gained a lot from his career, he knew he was meant to be with Brittani, despite being separated by an ocean for much of that time.

Rodgers dated racing driver Danica Patrick for two years after meeting Brittani, with their relationship ending in 2020. He later became engaged to actress Shailene Woodley in 2021, but they ended their engagement a year later.

Speaking further about Brittani, Rodgers mentioned that she was engaged when he met her, and he also became engaged to someone else. "Luckily, for me, we came back together," he said.

Rodgers confirmed that he and Brittani eloped, though he kept specific details about the proposal private. He indicated he had a surprise planned for her, but offered no further elaboration.

In June 2025, Rodgers announced he had secretly married his wife, Brittani, sharing minimal details at the time but confirming they had wed a few months prior. In July of the same year, he spoke about Brittani, calling her "incredible" and noting how meeting the right person can change one's entire world. He expressed gratitude for her unconditional love and support.

Rodgers also credited Brittani with playing a significant role in his reconciliation with his estranged family. He explained that her unconditional love provided him with an anchor point that shifted his perspective on all his relationships, enabling him to consider having conversations with his family.
