New York Yankees prospect George Lombard Jr. is reportedly in a relationship with Jackie Taylor, the daughter of the late NFL star Sean Taylor. The couple's romance has come to light through social media posts dating back to at least January 2025.
Lombard, a 21-year-old shortstop, and Jackie Taylor, a Division I volleyball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels, have shared numerous pictures documenting their relationship. Internet sleuths have uncovered images of the pair embracing by the ocean and enjoying time on a paddleboard. Lombard has also been seen supporting Taylor at her volleyball games, wearing a custom sweatshirt featuring her image.
Taylor has featured Lombard in an Instagram highlight reel titled 'My people,' including a Valentine's Day post from 2025 expressing her affection. Some posts suggest their relationship may have begun as early as 2024.
Both Lombard and Taylor attended Gulliver Prep in Miami before pursuing their athletic careers. In January 2025, they attended an event for the Sean Taylor Legacy Project, an organization Jackie leads to honor her father's memory. They were photographed with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian at the event, which took place during the NFC Championship Game between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
Sean Taylor, a former Pro Bowl safety for Washington, was tragically killed during a home burglary in Florida in November 2007 at the age of 24. Jackie Taylor has continued her father's athletic legacy, playing volleyball for the Tar Heels and wearing his iconic No. 21 jersey. As a junior, she recorded 165 blocks in a single season, ranking third in program history, a feat Lombard recently shared with his followers.
Lombard's burgeoning baseball career has seen him promoted to the major leagues from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following the August trade deadline. The Yankees drafted him 26th overall in 2023. He follows in the footsteps of his father, George Lombard Sr., a former MLB outfielder and current bench coach for the Detroit Tigers. Lombard is currently listed as day-to-day by Yankees manager Aaron Boone due to right knee discomfort after exiting a recent game, though medical imaging revealed no structural damage.
