New York Yankees prospect Dax Kilby experienced a rapid and successful overhaul of his baseball swing in approximately one week, which he then parlayed into a dominant performance in the Arizona Fall League. The swift transformation surprised Yankees director of hitting Jarret DeHart.
Kilby, the Yankees' top prospect and a first-round pick in 2025, had an injury-shortened 2026 season, playing in just 32 games with Low-A Tampa due to hamstring issues. Despite the limited playtime, he posted an .883 OPS, showcasing strong contact skills and plate discipline with 39 walks and 31 strikeouts.
Following the season, Kilby reported to the Yankees' facilities in Tampa in late September. Previously, his stance featured a wide base and was closed off. He has since transitioned to a narrower and more open stance. This adjusted approach led to him being named an Arizona Fall League All-Star.
