WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event is anticipated to feature top WWE stars competing, with potential implications for the Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam.
New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is also expected to be in attendance, with reports suggesting an angle involving world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns. Brunson has previously appeared in a WWE ring and has mentioned acknowledging Reigns before games during the NBA playoffs. There is speculation that Brunson could become an honorary member of The Bloodline.
Match Previews and Predictions
Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh (No DQ Match)
Danhausen will face JD McDonagh in a No Disqualification match. The feud stems from Danhausen taking money from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh without fulfilling their request to curse an opponent. The stakes were raised when McDonagh and Mysterio stole a Knicks jersey gifted to Danhausen.
Prediction: Danhausen is expected to win in front of the hometown crowd.
Paige and Brie Bella vs. Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)
WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella will defend their titles against Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley, members of the faction Fatal Influence. Reid and Henley have gained momentum since their main roster debuts, and they are predicted to win the tag team championship.
Prediction: Fatal Influence will win the tag team titles.
Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
Lyra Valkyria is set to face Bayley. The two were formerly friends, but a tag team title loss led Valkyria to turn on Bayley. Valkyria recently expressed that she felt Bayley was holding her back as a competitor. This match at Madison Square Garden is expected to be the culmination of their feud.
Prediction: Valkyria is expected to secure a significant victory over Bayley.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther and Sami Zayn
The main event features a tag team match between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, and Gunther and Sami Zayn. Rhodes, Gunther, and Zayn have been engaged in a month-long feud, which included Sami Zayn becoming Undisputed WWE Champion before CM Punk's return and victory. Punk and Rhodes have agreed to a SummerSlam match for the title, but the stakes for that match could increase based on Saturday night's outcome. If Gunther and Zayn win, they will reportedly be added to the SummerSlam championship match.
Prediction: Punk and Rhodes are predicted to work together to defeat Gunther and Zayn.
