Roman Reigns is set to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against challenger Penta on Monday Night Raw in Mexico City. The match carries significant anticipation, with WWE broadcaster Corey Graves indicating that the circumstances are ripe for a major upset.

Reigns has held the championship since defeating CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, successfully defending his title against numerous opponents. However, Graves believes Penta presents a different kind of challenge. Unlike opponents who often engage in slower-paced matches dictated by Reigns, Penta is known for his high-flying style, which could include maneuvers like the Penta driver and a 'Mexican destroyer.'

"You know, ordinarily, I wouldn't even have to think about this. I would just instinctively say Roman Reigns," Graves told OutKick Dropkick. "I think that if there is ever going to be a shock-the-world upset, the pieces are all in place for Monday night."

Graves highlighted the electrifying atmosphere expected in Arena CDMX, particularly with Penta having the support of the entire nation of Mexico. He described the sentiment as a "national battle" where Mexico is challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship. Graves suggested that Reigns, despite his extensive success, has not faced adversity quite like this, where the opposition includes not only the wrestler in the ring but also the energy of a massive crowd.

"Back to the atmosphere, in Arena CDMX, I experienced it last year at TripleMania," Graves said. "Penta is going to have the entire nation of Mexico behind him. We've seen glimpses of it at the past few AAA events — they're speaking of this like it's a national battle. Like, Mexico is challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship."

He further elaborated on Penta's journey, noting that he and his brother Fenix overcame significant hardship, sleeping in train stations and on streets, to break into the wrestling world. Both have since become stars in WWE, with Fenix currently holding the Cruiserweight Championship in AAA. Graves sees their real-life story as part of the compelling narrative surrounding Penta's challenge.

"Penta and his brother Fenix's real-life story is incredible. These guys literally slept in train stations and bus stations and lived on the streets until they could get their foot in the door in the world of Lucha," Graves explained. "And they haven't looked back. Both of them are now megastars in WWE. Fenix is the Cruiserweight Champion in AAA."

The potential outcome could significantly impact the WWE landscape, particularly The Bloodline faction. Past upsets in WWE, such as Mankind winning the title during the Attitude Era and Kofi Kingston's championship victory at WrestleMania 35, are cited as precedents for unexpected title changes.

Penta defeating Reigns would mark the end of Reigns' dominant reign and could potentially lead to instability within The Bloodline.
