During a recent WNBA game between the Portland Fire and the Los Angeles Sparks, a fan was given the opportunity to win a new Toyota by making a half-court shot. The Toyota-sponsored contest, which is a promotional event held during some Fire games, saw the fan take his shot in front of the arena crowd.

The fan's attempt, however, fell significantly short, barely reaching the free-throw line area. In the process of taking the shot, the fan appeared to overexert himself, losing his balance and tumbling onto the court. The moment was captured and has since gained viral attention.

While the fan did not win the car, the Portland Fire also lost the game to the Sparks with a score of 106-101. The game was also noted for ongoing discussions surrounding comments made by WNBA player Sophie Cunningham regarding transgender athletes, which had drawn both supporters and counterprotesters to the arena.

In a separate, unrelated WNBA event, supporters of Sophie Cunningham were met by counterprotesters outside the arena in Portland on Friday night.
