Soccer legend Wayne Rooney did not hold back his opinion of the World Cup halftime show, describing it as “crap.” Rooney, who was serving as a commentator, was asked for his thoughts on the performance which featured artists like Shakira, BTS, Madonna, Burna Boy, and Justin Bieber.

“I thought the best part was when it finished,” Rooney stated during the broadcast. While acknowledging his liking for many of the artists involved, he ultimately found the performance to be unsatisfactory. BBC presenter Gabby Logan responded to his blunt assessment by quipping that the BBC was known for "honest reviews."

Rooney's candid remarks appeared to resonate with viewers who shared similar sentiments.

Beyond the halftime show, the match itself concluded with Spain clinching the World Cup title over Argentina with a 1-0 victory. Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute. He later described the win as "destiny," stating, "I think that in the end, the goal belonged to 47 million people, not to me or the 26 players here. I believe that today destiny was written, it was meant for us to win, far from our fans, but we tried to make them feel as close as possible."
