Two women's college basketball teams committed unforced errors on the same day, scoring on their own baskets and gifting opponents points. The embarrassing incidents occurred in separate games involving Northwestern State and New Mexico State.

During a matchup between Northwestern State and Arkansas, Lady Demons guard Karma Wynn mistakenly scored on her own team's basket during an inbounds play in the backcourt. The costly error gave Arkansas two free points. The Razorbacks went on to win the game 89-59.

Later the same day, New Mexico State experienced a similar blunder. With just over 20 seconds remaining in their game against Southern Utah and trailing by one point, Aggies guard Emma Christiana stole an inbounds pass and proceeded to lay the ball into her own basket. This mistake gave Southern Utah a 63-60 lead. The scorekeeper apparently did not immediately notice the error.

Despite the own-goal, New Mexico State managed to rally for a 64-63 victory. Freshman Stacy Chovino scored the game-winning basket with two seconds left on the correct end of the court.
