Officials at the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift are conducting thorough checks of riders' clothing to prevent the use of equipment designed to create aerodynamic gains. This measure follows reports and concerns that some riders may have incorporated padding into their bras or other garments to improve airflow and efficiency, potentially gaining an advantage.

Race organizer ASO issued a statement emphasizing strict adherence to UCI regulations. The checks will focus on article 1.3.032, which addresses non-essential elements and accessories worn by a rider that could modify their morphology. This includes examining helmets, glasses, shoes, and communication devices.

According to Dutch media outlet Wielerflits, the practice of using bra padding as aerodynamic fairings has been observed previously, including at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Such violations could lead to disqualification from a race and a fine of nearly £200.

Riders are required to present their bikes and outfits for final checks no later than 10 minutes before their respective start times. The intensified scrutiny aims to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.
