Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly agreed to a £75 million deal, with an additional £10 million in add-ons, to sign winger Savinho from Manchester City. This move comes a year after the North London club first identified the Brazilian player as a transfer target. The acquisition of Savinho is expected to push Tottenham's total summer spending beyond £300 million, with just over a week remaining in the transfer window.

Last summer, Tottenham, then managed by Thomas Frank, attempted to sign Savinho, but the player opted to remain at Manchester City for another season under Pep Guardiola. Tottenham revived their interest this summer, with manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly also looking to strengthen the team's attacking options by pursuing Savinho's teammate Omar Marmoush.

Despite the substantial outlay on new players, Tottenham has also generated significant revenue through player sales, recouping approximately £140 million. Key players such as captain Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Luka Vuskovic have been part of these departures. The club has already made substantial investments in its midfield, spending £185 million on signings including Sandro Tonali from Newcastle and Matheus Fernandes from West Ham.

Savinho's arrival is a key component of Tottenham's strategy to improve their performance after finishing in 17th place in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons. The club's aggressive transfer activity reflects a strong commitment to bolstering the squad in the current transfer window. Reports also indicate that Tottenham has shown interest in Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, though Liverpool would demand a considerable fee to consider selling the player.
